From Kovan with Love
Based in Kovan, Czechia, Podkovan is a historic, family‑owned Czech brewery founded in 1434 near Prague, specializing in pure, traditional lagers brewed with its own spring water. Their flagship beers include light and dark lagers ranging from 4 % to 4.8% ABV, crafted using classic Czech hops and malts.
With over 150,000 hectolitres produced annually, the brewery continues to expand its reach both domestically and overseas.
Fun fact: Podkovan directly translates to Horseshoe in English!

We’re proud to offer Podkovan’s signature Czech lagers — a light and a dark — both available in 50L kegs. The Podkovan Light Lager (ABV 4.8%) delivers a crisp, balanced taste with gentle bitterness and a clean finish, perfect for everyday drinking. The Podkovan Dark Lager (ABV 4.0%) brings a richer, malt-forward profile with notes of caramel, toasted bread, and subtle cocoa. Brewed using traditional Czech methods and spring water, both lagers offer authentic, unfiltered character ideal for pubs looking to serve something comforting, flavourful, and distinct.
